Our Mission is to mobilize churches to put their faith into action by providing opportunities to serve alongside missionaries reaching the physically and spiritually hungry throughout the world.
· Provide U.S. churches opportunities to serve, in Word and deed, alongside missionaries and people groups throughout the world. · Lead Vision Trips for pastors and church leaders to Area Development Projects. · Provide leadership, administration, and coordination between church, missionaries, and missionary organizations.
· Lead Mission efforts throughout the world. · Church Consulting. · Officiate wedding ceremonies, memorial services, baptisms, etc. · Provide pre-marital, marital, and personal counseling.
· Provide pastor care for employees or immediate family members wherever care can be expressed and help given: hospitals, nursing homes, funeral homes, family homes, jail visits, or other neutral sites. · Officiate weddings, memorial services, and graveside services for employees and their families as requested.
· Recruit U.S. churches to partner together to adopt villages in Area Development Projects in Malawi. · Lead Vision Trips for pastors and church leaders to Area Development Projects. · Provide leadership, administration, and coordination between church and missionary partners.
· Helped plant Mission Hills Church in San Marcos on 32 acres with 54,000 square feet of facilities (20-million-dollar project). · Provided leadership oversight in start-up and operations of the Courtyard Café (seats 120), and Bookstore / Resource Center. · Designed and implemented the marketing and Grand Opening of new campus. Grew to over 1,300 attendees on Sundays. · Designed all campus signage, phone system, and oversaw Facilities Department. · Started and oversaw 30+ ministries: o Dozen Sunday ministries (i.e., First Impressions, Guest Services, etc.). o Other ministries (i.e., Small Groups, Men’s, Prayer, Follow-up, Sports, etc.). · Implemented the church’s web site, children’s check-in kiosk, visitor follow-up, member care, group finder, event registration, and church master calendar. · Planned all church events (i.e., church campaigns, service projects, campouts, picnics & BBQs, baptisms, special community events, leadership training & leader team building, etc.).
· Planned, implemented, and led quarterly promotions, registration, new leader and ongoing training classes, kick-off rallies, and All Small Group events. · Recruited and trained Small Group Coaches (21) and Leaders (over 120). · Wrote weekly Small Group Leader Outline and Sermon Discussion Questions. · Produced and directed worship and special services. · Planned and oversaw major church events from 400 to 10,000 people. · Oversaw our First Impressions, Tram & Traffic, and Van Ministries (90-100 volunteers each weekend). · Directed numerous changes to Small Groups Ministry web site.
Leadership · Served on our Elder Board (13-years) and Trustee Board (6-years). · Served on our World Team Missions board for 3-years. Helped start a non-profit missions support organization called Technical Outreach. · Provided leadership for numerous major church projects and outreach events. · Implemented numerous enhancements to our assimilation process.
Pastoral · Performed Pastoral duties (i.e., preaching, weddings, funerals, and hospital visitations). · Provided premarital counseling, marital, and financial counseling. · Provided pastoral oversight/leadership to our 35-45 year-old Life Stage Ministry. · Introduced many individuals into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. · Taught numerous small group leadership training classes. · Led and started numerous small groups and leadership training groups. · Taught Biblically based financial workshops to approximately 160 students. · Taught numerous “Discover Your Niche” classes and Adult Sunday School classes. · Discipled several men and was discipled by another man for several years.
Staff · Proposed, recruited, and supervised numerous ministry and support staff positions. · Created a structured Pastoral Internship Program, which Fuller Seminary adopted. · Performed staff performance reviews and compensation recommendations. · Trained staff on how to develop mission statements, goals, and action plans in-line with the church’s vision. · Planned and led several staff retreats each year.
Financial · Secured a $2,450,000 line of credit to refinance existing mortgages, remodel worship center, and expand the facility. · Prepared/managed the church budget each year (99/00 General Budget $1,239,649). · Transitioned the church from a manual accounting system to a computerized financial system. Created & implemented all new accounting procedures. · Created an online Budget Tracking System.
Automation · Designed and set-up the local area network for the church. Expanded from 2 computers to 20 computers and 4 laser printers networked. Provided staff with Internet / e-mail access. · Improved our communication by revamping our computer network with a dedicated server, Ethernet cables, a DSL modem line, and a church web site. · Initiated and set-up the use of PowerPoint presentations in our worship services. · Improved the efficiency of the office with new telephone and voice mail systems, a digital duplicator machine, and various computerized tracking applications. · Transitioned from a manual calendar system to a computerized calendar system. · Designed and implemented church web site that receives 1500 unique visitors monthly.
Facilities · Managed a $2 million building project. Insured a high quality completion under budget, and saved the church thousands of dollars. · Managed a $212,575 building project. Insured a quality product that was on time and under budget by 3.5%. · Managed the completion of a $66,000 remodel of our gymnasium. The completion of this project provided a multipurpose gymnasium and additional classroom space. · Acquired, and provided installation oversight for new Fire Safety and Security Systems.
